Het voorbehoud bleek terecht.
Het festival zal op 2 t/m 4 februari 2018(!) plaatsvinden in De Melkweg en niet op het Marineterrein.
In november zal in het Evenementencomplex op het Marineterrein hoogstwaarschijnlijk het Other Futures festival plaatsvinden met science fiction uit niet-westerse landen. Het wordt georganiseerd door Brigitte van der Sande die in onderstaande video een en ander uitlegt over haar project. Kijken vanaf 07:25.
Er zullen schrijvers, kunstenaars en filmmakers aanwezig zijn. Meer info volgt later.
Omschrijving festivalproject:
We are working on a concept for a 3-day festival of non-western science fiction that will take place from 25-27 November 2016 at the Marineterrein in Amsterdam and that brings together makers from all over the world to meet and discuss the practice and potential of a surprisingly vivid genre. Science fiction is normally considered a Western fiction: technological, future-oriented, white, male and colonial in the approach of 'the other', i.e. the alien. More and more writers, visual artists, filmmakers etc. from non-western countries and heritage however are using the genre to reflect on their own culture and critically assess the culture of the West.
OTHER FUTURES take place on the Marineterrein in Amsterdam on 25-27 November 2016!
